Happy Monday everyone! Last week MFT did a third session of Camp Create. Naturally, I went camping for the third time and joined in the fun! As in previous sessions, they had 5 challenges. I completed all 5 this weekend to earn all 5 badges and to be entered in the grand prize drawing. You can get a closer look at my entries on my Instagram account.
With it being the final Camp Create session this summer, there was a bonus farewell challenge. The challenge was to create a one layer card. My card today was an idea that I’ve had floating around in my head ever since I saw MFT’s Adorable Elephants stamp set.
My idea was to have these elephants get busted for sneaking a cupcake treat. If they weren’t so cute and innocent-looking, they would be in so much trouble. *lol* To create this one layer scene card, there was A LOT of masking. My MISTI was a must-have in lining up my stamps and planning out my card.
I created the grass edge and window masks with a die. All other masks were stamped on masking tape and fussy cut out. The wall was created by ink blending Old Paper and Spiced Marmalade distress inks through a brick wall stencil before all masks were removed. I flicked grass blades with a couple of green Copic markers to create texture. For depth and dimension, I added shading to the left side of the elephants and under the window.
For a little bit more dimension and interest, I heat embossed the sentiment, added glossy accents to the cherry and added clear Wink of Stella to the tops of the cupcakes.
This card took a bit of time, but I love the end result, especially since I’ve been wanting to do it for so long. All 3 sessions of Camp Create was so much fun and I was glad to be able to participate.
