Hi there. Today I have another mythical creature card to share. This time it’s a unicorn. I have done a couple of unicorn cards already, but this is another different unicorn. In fact I have five different sets of unicorns and there are two more sets that I would like to buy, but I am holding off – for now. Can you tell I love unicorns and mythical creatures? *lol*
First, I die cut a stitched rectangle twice from white cardstock. I took one of them and die cut a stitched cloud edge. Next I die cut the stitched rainbow from hot press watercolor paper and watercolored the four smallest rings with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. Normally I would add the color directly to the paper then blend out with a watercolor brush. However, this time I wanted a color that was not in my set. To create my own custom color, I scribbled two different colors on a craft mat and mixed them together. I tested the color on a scrap piece of paper and once I was satisfied with the color, I picked the color up with my watercolor brush and applied it to the die cut.
I stamped the unicorn on hot press watercolor paper and also colored it with my Zigs. I used the matching die to die cut it out and popped it up with foam adhesive.
I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment and added a few white/pinkish sequins. To finish, I added some clear Wink of Stella to the rainbow and the colored areas of the unicorn for some shimmer.
