Eat, Sleep, Craft Repeated 2018

Hello everyone!  For the past week, I was fortunate enough to be part of the 2nd annual craft retreat in Vancouver with some very talented crafty friends.

L to R: Nancy, me, Susan, Loll, Christine, Darnell

Christine was our gracious hostess again and she is the one who introduced me to this fabulous group of ladies.  At last year’s retreat, I met Loll, Susan and Nancy for the very first time, making this our one year anniversary!  And this year, I met Darnell for the first time!  Also this year Bonnie (L) and Nance (R) joined us via Skype.

Darnell and I are newbies to mixed media unlike the others who are seasoned pros, so it was so fun and educational to learn and play with all the different products and techniques.  I came home with several pieces and backgrounds that I will turn into cards later, but here’s a simple card created with DOx inks, a stencil and embossing paste.

And I used a gorgeous glitter spray for the background.

I had a blast and can’t imagine how much more fun it would have been had I actually went to all five days!  Hope to do it again next year for the full retreat.

  2. Oh, how lucky you are to have met this talented group – and they, you! I can just imagine all the joy that infused every. single. moment you spent together, laughing and crafting! Learning new ‘tricks of the trade’ must have been so exciting (says someone who does the same thing repetitively *grin*). Your mixed media card here: only gorgeous! Love it!
