Hello there! I’m back with a rare type of card to share today. Late last night my husband asked if I had a retirement card… he needed one for a colleagues who retired today! Nothing like getting plenty of advance notice! 😂 So I woke up this morning to get started, but I could not for the life of me remember which set had the ‘happy retirement’ sentiment. I found a slightly different retirement sentiment and ended with this.
Started by stamping the cocktail with Memento black ink on X-press It paper. Masked it and the bottom part, then blended Squeezed Lemonade and Carved Pumpkin DOx inks with a mini blending tool. Removed masks and coloured in the image with Copics. Die cut ‘enjoy’ once from a scrap of X-press It paper and four more times from a scrap of regular thick white cardstock. Ombré coloured the X-press It diecut with red Copic markers, then stacked all five pieces for dimension.
In my haste to get this done within the timeframe, I smeared ink on the panel. No time to start over, so I die cut a frame from X-press It paper with an A2 size stitched rectangle die (retired) and a duo sided stitched rectangle die. Adhered the panel to a white top folding card base and popped the frame up with foam tape to give it dimension. Heat embossed ‘your retirement’ with white embossing powder on a black strip. To finish, added clear shimmer to the umbrella and ‘enjoy’ diecut, Crystal Glaze to the glass and a few round clear drops.
My husband said his colleague loved it. 😊 Thank you for stopping by. Have a great day!
