Hello there! I am so excited to be guest designing today at CAS on Friday for their challenge #139 Butterflies. There were so many options, but in the end I used a new die I recently purchased. And here’s my card.
I wanted to try the faux stained glass technique and thought this Drifting Side Butterfly die would be perfect for a first attempt. To start, the solid butterfly was die cut from Bristol paper and the outline butterfly was die cut four times from silver foil paper. Coloured the solid Bristol butterfly with Zig markers then stacked the silver outline butterflies on top. Added Crystal Glaze to the individual sections, then set aside to dry.
For a bit of interest, took a black A2 panel from my stash and scored a grid background with my scoring tool. Heat embossed the sentiment in silver below the grid. Attached the panel to a white card base and adhered the butterfly to finish.
That does it for me, but be sure to check out more wonderful inspirations from the design team at CAS on Friday HERE. Thank you for visiting!
