Guest Designer for Just Us Girls #419

Hello there.  I’m back for week 2 this month as guest designer for Just Us Girls Challenge (JUGS).  It’s trend week, and Silhouette Stamping is trending.

I wanted to make a Christmas card, but I didn’t have any Christmas silhouette stamps — or so I thought… it seems I have forgotten what I‘ve purchased. 😂   And here’s my card.

A stitched rectangle panel was die cut from Mixed Media paper.  A reverse circle mask was created by diecutting from copy paper.  Temporary adhesive was used to hold the mask in place, then the bird was stamped with VersaMark and white heat embossed.

Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Blueprint Sketch distress inks were ink blended for an Ombré sky. Wiped off excess ink with a tissue, then spritz with water.  Dabbed with a paper towel to get a snowy effect.  Quickly dried with the heat tool before stamping the pine branches from the set with Archival black ink.  Removed mask to reveal the mini scene.

Die cut peace from silver glitter paper and from black cardstock to offset them.  Added some subtle snowflakes with a white gel pen.  Mounted the panel with foam adhesives to a white top folding card base to finish.

Be sure to check out the fabulous creations from the talented JUGS design team HERE for more inspirations.  Hope you will play along with us.  Love to see what you come up with.  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a wonderful week.

  2. Beautiful winter scene Trina! Love your design with the masked circle. The bird embossed in white really makes it pop from the gorgeous blue background. Love all the sparkle! Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx

  3. Putting your scene in a circle was a great idea, Trina. The white and black silhouettes are a great contrast against the wonderful snowy blue sky.

  4. Oh this is beautiful! Love those images and how you pulled them together! How does one forget what stamps they purchased (said sarcastically…it happens to me all the time!). Lovely card!

  5. Trina, this is such a lovely holiday card…so perfect for anyone at this time. Thanks for sharing it and the technique of reverse masking. Know that I’ll be trying it.
