Less Is More #327 + Giveaway

Hi everyone!  Today is a big day.  Along with Izzy and Nonni, I am super excited to be joining the talented design team (DT) at Less is More (LIM) challenge!  Just a year ago when I first started my blog, LIM drew me in with their Saints, Dragons or Heroes chalulenge and I’ve been a fan ever since.  So to be part of this team now is so surreal, to say the least.  And for my first week, we have a grey and yellow colour challenge.  This beautiful colour combo was chosen by Anita whose birthday is tomorrow!  Happy birthday, Anita!  Our sponsor and guest designer is Bev from Uniko.

ENCOURAGEMENT CARD

The idea for my first card came about when I was putting away my Go Wild stamp set.  I saw a yellow giraffe and a grey elephant and came up with this card.

The images were stamped with black Memento ink.  Masking was used to stamp the giraffe in such a way to make it look taller. They were coloured with Copics.  The sentiment was white heat embossed on a  black 1″ strip.

BIRTHDAY CARD

For my next card, I created a floral birthday card.  I recently bought the Daffodils and Birthday Wishes stamp sets and took the opportunity to use them before they may possibly sit and collect dust. *lol* 😂

The daffodils were stamped once again with Memento black ink and coloured with Copics.  They were then masked and Smoky Slate ink was blended with a Clarity brush through a brick stencil to create the background.  The sentiment was black heat embossed with black Versafine ink and clear glitter embossing powder.  For more sparkle, clear shimmer was added to the daffodils.  A few clear droplets finished off the card.

I am entering this birthday card in the following challenges:

CAS(E) this Sketch – Sketch #220
Time Out – #82 Flowers with the optional twist of ‘Kissing’
SSS MondayThe Great Outdoors
STAMPlorationsMay 2017 Anything CAS Goes optional color twist feminine color

I noticed today that you were posting LIM challenge cards like you were a member of the team, so I went back to find the actual announcement. Because I didn’t see this, I didn’t think it had happened yet. Anyway (oy, what a rambler!), I send my congratulations on the appointment. I know the team must be over the moon that you joined them with your incredible talent!! And, of course, I LOVE your cards!! Hugs, Darnell
