Less is More #330

Happy Saturday everyone!  Challenge #330 at Less is More starts today and it’s all about Shimmer.  Our sponsor this month is Uniko.

SHIMMER PEN

The floral image was stamped on the bottom of a white A2 panel with London Fog Memento ink.  Once again, I decided to keep them non-coloured, but still wanted dimension, so I did a bit of shading with C1and C3 Gray Copic markers.  Smile was die cut from Pink Pirouette cardstock, sponged with Melon Mambo ink for an Ombré effect then stacked on black fun foam for dimension.  The other part of the sentiment was stamped in black on a white strip.  The top and bottom edges were traced with a black marker to make it stand out.  Finally, clear sparkle was added to the smile diecut.  This is my favourite and easiest way to add shimmer to any project.  The panel was adhered to a top white folding card base and Sparkly gumdrops finished the card.

I am playing in the following challenges:
STAMPlorationsMay 2017 Cutplorations
CAS Colours & SketchesSketch #224
STAMPlorations – May 2017 Anything CAS Goes optional color twist Feminine Colors
STAMPlorations – Anything STAMPlorations Goes (smile stamp & die)

SHIMMER SPRAY

The emboss resist technique was used to create this card.  The fireworks were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with clear embossing powder on a white A2 panel.  I don’t own any colour pigment inks, so the coloured ones were first inked and stamped with dye inks, then stamped overtoo with VersaMark to be heat embossed.  The MISTI was essential to this step.  Black Soot distress ink was then blended with a mini blending tool over the entire piece, leaving it lighter at the bottom.  Excess ink was then wiped with a tissue.  For shimmer, it was sprayed with a DIY shimmer spray created with water and Perfect Pearls.  Unfortunately, the photo doesn’t show how sparkly it is IRL. Once the panel was completely dry, the sentiment was white heat embossed.  The panel was adhered to a white top folding card base and a city border die cut from black cardstock was added to the bottom to finish,
