Hi everyone. Today is not only the start of challenge #331 Neapolitan at Less is More, but it’s a new month and we have a new sponsor. This month’s sponsor is STAMPlorations and our guest this week is owner Shery Russ.
NEAPOLITAN CAKE
Growing up, my mom always bought Neapolitan ice-cream. Maybe that’s why I haven’t eaten it since. 😂 The image was stamped with black Memento ink on a snippet of X-press It paper. The bear was coloured with Copics (E51, E53, E55), then die cut out with the matching die. The cake was paper pieced using snippets of Very Vanilla, Pretty in Pink (retired) and Early Espresso cardstock. The sentiment was heat embossed with Early Espresso dye ink, VersaMark and clear glitter embossing powder on a 5.5″x3.75″ white snippet panel. Pretty in Pink dye ink (also retired) was sponged on for the background. To incorporate more Neapolitan colours into the design, snippet strips of the same colour cardstock were adhered directly onto a white top folding card base. The bear image was mounted with foam tape. Clear shimmer on the cake layers and a few sparkly gumdrops were added to finish.
I am playing in the following challenges:
AAA Cards – Game #91 The 3rd Big Birthday Bash
Seize the Birthday – Anything Birthday Goes optional Something Sweet
Pixie’s Snippets Playground – Weeks 283 & 284 Use Snippets (cardstock)
SSS Wednesday – Anything Goes
Addicted to Stamps and More – #244 Clean and Simple
NEAPOLITAN TRIO
With a theme like Neapolitan, I couldn’t pass up making an ice-cream card for my next card. I wasn’t sure what to do until I saw sketch #224 at CAS(E) this Sketch.
The scoops were inked with Mocha, Antique Linen and Pretty in Pink (retired), while the cones were stamped with Sand Dunes and Rocky Shores ink. They were die cut out with the coordinating dies. The subtle background was created with Pretty in Pink ink and a Diagonal Grid stencil using a Clarity brush. The sentiment was heat embossed on an Early Espresso cardstock strip. Clear shimmer was added to the scoops and a few sparkling clear sequins finished the card.
Now over to you. Remember to keep it CAS and follow the challenge guidelines. For more inspirations, be sure to check out my team’s personal blogs. Thank you for dropping by. Have a great week!

Two fun cards, Trina. I love that sweet bear and his birthday cake. The striped background is awesome. And your ice cream cones look delicious. Love the sparkle! xx
Oh he’s so sweet and the delicate pastel colours are perfect to make the teddy the focal point, I like the pink behind him x
Love the cute bear and yummy-looking cake! Nicely arranged card. Your ice cream cones make me almost wish I liked Neapolitan! Great cards.
What great work this week, Trina. Loving your colouring and the strips on the card base add such great interest to your first card. The shimmer adds so much gorgeousness to these cards, and what great stencilling behind your ice creams, it mimics your cones perfectly xx
Wow Trina – wonderful cards! Megan said it all for me on your snippets card (she’s my little helper right now).
Lovely to see you in the Playground!

These are fabulous, Trina! I love the Beary Special Birthday set, and it’s worked so brilliantly for the Neapolitan colours with the cute bear and delicious birthday cake! Lovely soft inking in the background too <3 The ice cream cones are a brilliant take on the sketch and they're coloured beautifully with the soft graduation between the colours but also look amazing with the shimmer over the top – really fab! Have a lovely week x
Hi Trina, two beautiful cards, love the little bear, it is ever so cute and those are some seriously skinny stripes behind the main panel and a great take on the Neapolitan colour scheme. Thank you for coming to play with us in Snippets Playground this fortnight, good luck in the draw, have a wonderful week… Megan GD
Love your cute little bear…I didn’t even think of using that stamp! Perfect!
These are both super sweet!
A duo of yumminess and certainly with all that shimmer to your birthday cake and ice cream cones I’m craving sugar!!! Brilliant use of neapolitan colours and you do make me smile when you mention your mum always buying that flavour … think mine did too which is why I steer away from it these days! hee hee! Love the elegant stripes on your first card – they make the foreground image pop. Your colouring is always fantastic and perfect CAS designs too. Have a great week and thanks for playing along at AAA Cards 3rd birthday challenge too. xx
Two fabulous cards Trina, the first one is so cute.
Love and hugs

Both your cards are extremely cute this week! Your coloring is as fab as always and I love the stripes and sponging. My favorite thing in your card duo must anyway be the soft stenciling in your second card. This is one of my favorite card making techniques! Have a relaxing Sunday. xxx
You made me laugh with that comment about not buying Neapolitan ice cream now Trina! You’ve really worked those colours beautifully on your two cards. As always, your colouring on the adorable little bear is superb and I really like the way the stripes peek out at either side of your panel. But…the ice cream card looks incredible! The shimmer on the blobs of Neapolitan look like they have been sprinkled with added sugar (ooh the cavities that could cause lol). Brilliant use of that layout.
I chuckled to myself when I read your post about neapolitan ice cream. My mom bought it too! I don’t think I have ever had it since I was a kid. Both of these cards are FAB!! However, those ice cream cones are INCREDIBLE!!! Well done! Thanks for sharing your talents with us at Seize the Birthday!
2 gorgeous cards, I do love your yummy ice cream cones, The sparkle makes them look delicious 🙂
So now I’m craving neapolitan ice cream! Fab pair of cards designed to make the recipient hungry I’m thinking. Thanks for joining in with AAA Cards 3rd birthday celebrations.
Trina, these cards are delightful. You’ve captured the challenge theme so well. . .and what better way to celebrate it than with the ice cream scoops all sparkly! Thanks for sharing these cards.
Super cards here Trina, just loving these ice colours and love your added sparkle too 😉 Viv xx
Two beautiful cards, Trina ! Love this cute little bear with this yummy cake ! I’m sure this cake was for you ! And I love the ice cream scones too ! Love how you made the subtle background, I really have to invest in Clarity brushes ! A beautiful take on the CASE this sketch challenge and ideal with the summer approaching ! Have a great weekend ! xx
Great use of the Neapolitan color scheme! Love the sweet bear and his fabulous cake – looks great with the addition of a bit of sparkle.
