Less is More #350 Stars

Hello everyone.  And welcome to a new challenge at Less is More (LIM).  We’re back to one layer card week and this time our theme is Stars.  We welcome back Bev from Uniko as our guest designer and our sponsor this month.

This birthday card was created for my teamie Sharon who had a birthday this week.  Happy birthday Sharon! 🎉🎈🎁   A top folding A2 card base was created from mixed media paper.  Distress inks in rainbow colours were blended with a mini blending tool through NBUS Wave of Stars stencil.  Perfect Pearls was added to give it some shimmer.

The sentiment was black heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder for more sparkle.  This was so easy, I decided to make a Christmas card version with white heat embossing on navy cardstock.

I don’t think anything has more stars than a galaxy.  And with my NBUS Space Explorer stamp set arriving last week, it was meant to be. 😉  A top folding A2 card base was created from no bleed through Copic friendly cardstock.  The astronaut and sentiment were stamped with Intense Black ink and coloured with Copics.  Masking, distress inks and mini blending tools were used to create the galaxy strip.  It was spritz with water and splattered with white acrylic paint.  Nuvo Crystal Glaze was added to the balloons and clear shimmer was added to the galaxy.  With the stamp sets still in position in my MISTI, the astronaut and sentiment were stamped with VersaMark and clear heat embossed for added interest.

  1. Your little astronaut is adorable, I love the ‘cosmic’ background you created! Thanks so much for sharing with us at Seize the Birthday, Trina!

  2. I have to say that in real life, the card you sent to me looks incredible with all it’s rainbow shimmer Trina and I was thrilled to receive it! Thank you. Those stars look super on the Christmas version too. But I must say that your galaxy background is jaw dropping! Incredible inking work and such a super image to pair it with. xx

  3. Fabulous work as always again this week, Trina. I love those stencilled stars and it’s so great to see how two different designs using the same products can have a totally different feel. And bravo for your second card, so well executed and obviously great work with the masking. The galaxy effect is awesome! xx

  4. All your cards are lovely and stunning, but I’m particularly drawn to the Make a Wish card, first for it’s cheerful colors and second because it brings to mind a favorite shirt my daughter had in elementary school – so many happy memories!

  5. Beautiful star cards, Trina. LOVE the rainbow of colours with your first. And how elegant the same design looks in white heat embossing on navy card. The contrast is amazing.

Your little astronaut is adorable. Great job on the galaxy background. The colours are perfect! xx

  6. Two fabulous cards, Trina ! Love your rainbow and shimmery stars on your first card and it looks so different on the dark blue card ! Fantastic ! And what an amazing and wonderful little space scene you’ve created here ! A lot of work with masking, blending, stamping, glittering…Absolutely gorgeous ! And still so CAS ! Your rock again this week ! Have a great Sunday and a fabulous week ! xx

  7. Where do I start Trina, all your examples are simply beautiful. My favourite would have to be the little astronaut as I’m a sucker for little space scenes and you’ve pulled this off so brilliantly. So much detail and yet completely CAS. Your rainbow of stars and Christmas example are just magnificent too. You really showcase your stash to maximum potential yet always bursting with ‘white’ space too. Have a fun week xx
