Less is More #358 Candles

Hello there.  I’m back this week with a new challenge at Less is More (LIM).  It’s one layer card week and the theme is Candles or Light.  Our sponsor this month is Happy Little Stampers.

On a top folding Mixed Media card base, black heat embossed the bear, Santa sleigh and sentiment.  Masked the bear and die cut a reverse dome mask from copy paper.  Blended Wilted Violet, Blueprint Sketch and Chipped Sapphire distress inks for the background.

Mixed Perfect Pearls with water and splaltered to create the stars.  Repeated with acrylic white paint.  Removed masks and coloured the bear image with Zig markers.

  10. Great minds think alike, Trina… We have both been inspired to make a night sky with sponging and splattering! 🙂 Your bear looks totally cute and I love the glow around the candle. Stamping the Santa and his sleigh really adds to the Christmas feel of this card. Great design with wonderful details. Have a fun week!

  11. So much beauty here Trina. Your masking is always perfection and you create the one layer cards in such a way that I have to do a double take … but it’s your excellent shading and attention to detail that fools the eyes! Love that cute little bear and swooning at the background sky and perfect ‘light’ scene. Have a great week and thanks for linking this beauty up at the Uniko Christmas challenge too. Hugs x

  12. Superb card, love your little scene with such a gorgeous contrast between the dark night sky and bright candle light. Thanks for joining in with the AAA Cards Christmas Challenge.

  14. This is a sweet Clean and Simple beauty, Trina! I love all of the white (in this case white white) space. No texture, no pattern, nada! Beautiful ink blending and wonderful masking. Thanks so much for playing along at AAA Cards with a great example of AAA’s definition of CAS. Lovely.

  15. So, so cute Trina ! Your blended sky is just stunning with those white and silver pearl splatters ! I hope that all the wishes of this adorable little bear will come true after Santa’s coming ! With the stamping of the bear halfway out of the dome, you give this OLC card so much dimension ! Fabulous ! Have a great WE ! Hugs xx
PS: Love the falling snow on the screen while reading your post !

  16. Love the adorable bear with his candle! And the colours in the sky are so beautiful. I’ve never tried splattering with Perfect Pearls in water to create stars – must try that.
