Less is More #371 – Yellow Blue Grey

Hello everyone!  My teammates IzzyNonni and I have officially passed our one year anniversary as part of the design team at Less is More (LIM)!  Even in this short time, we saw some big changes, including moving from weekly to fortnightly.  It has been a lot of fun and I want to thank my LIM team and all of you who participate!  Last year we started off with a colour challenge, so it’s only fitting we celebrate with a new colour challenge!  The colours this time are yellow, blue and grey.  Our March winner, Joanna of Jo-Jo’s Stamping Spot, is our guest designer.  And we have a brand new sponsor to our challenge, but they are no stranger to the crafting community.  We welcome Winnie & Walter, who is generously giving this month’s winner a $25 gift card to their store!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANITA!

This card was created for my teamie Anita.  It was inspired by this card and since I had just purchased the Chameleon pencils, I wanted to test them out.  To begin, an A2 size stitched rectangle was die cut from Toned Gray paper.   Next, ‘happy’ was stamped with VersaMark using the MISTI, then coloured in with several different blue pencils.  With ‘happy’ still in the MISTI, stamped it again along with the word ‘birthday’ in VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder.  Initially, the bunny was stamped in black on Toned Gray paper and coloured with pencils too, but I was not able to get the colours bright enough.  So I went back to stamping it on X-press It paper, colouring with Copics and die cutting it out with the matching die.  A second piece was die cut from a white scrap to stack for just a tiny bit of dimension… after all, it needed to be mail-friendly. 😉  Added rhinestones to the flower centres and clear shimmer to finish.
