Less is More #372 Thinking of You

Hello there!  A new challenge starts today at Less is More (LIM) and for this fortnight, it’s our one layer card (OLC) challenge with a Thinking of You theme.  Once again our wonderful sponsor this month is Winnie and Walter and they are generously offering this month’s winner a $25 gift card to their store.

I rarely ever make thinking of you cards, but took this opportunity to practice my pencil colouring and use this cutie again.  To begin, stamped the bunny with Intense Black ink on a Certainly Celery (retired) card base.  Coloured him with a white Prismacolor pencil and added shading with pink and grey Polychromos pencils.

Used a black Polychromos pencil and a t-ruler to create and colour a black sentiment strip.  White heat embossed the sentiment from the same set, then framed him by embossing with a couple of rectangle dies to finish.

  1. Thank you for entering this cute card in our Flora or Fauna Challenge at AYLI . An adorable bunny!! Sarah DT

  2. Superb card Trina! Fantastic colouring on the bunny and it’s a perfect image for the thinking of you sentiment. I know many people see that sentiment purely for a sympathy card, but I (like you here) see it more as a general sentiment – with a nice connotation to the thinking of you i.e. having happy thoughts. Well done for letting others see that side of the theme!

  3. So, so adorable ! I love how this little bunny is lying down on the sentiment frame. I imagine him watching the clouds and the funny shapes they make. Super cute and CAS. Love it ! Have a great week. Hugs x

  4. This is so cute!! That sweet little bunny really does look like he is lying there in the grass, looking up at the sky, thinking of someone. And the embossed rectangles add so much texture and interest! Thanks for playing with The House That Stamps Built.

  7. Aahhh..Such a sweet bunny and creative One Layer CAS Design. I never think to emboss with my dies. I love the added texture. TFS my friend. It was so fun seeing you in person at our retreat:-) Love and Hugs, Nancy

  8. How adorable is your little bunny, gazing into the sky, thinking about another special some-bunny! Darling!

  9. Adorable little bunny – he looks so perfectly relaxed lying on the sentiment! I was sure the sentiment was a strip of black cs – that is a great technique to do it without using black cs! Love the framing with the embossed dies!

  10. A fabulous card, Trina. Hard to believe it’s only one layer. I was particularly intrigued by your black sentiment strip and I hope I can can remember your brillant colouring trick for my future cards.

  11. Wow Trina, this looks so dimensional! I adore the black strip you’ve created with pencils and am definitely stealing the idea. 😉 Your use of rectangle dies was perfect for framing that cute bunny. As always, your coloring looks outstanding! Have a nice weekend!
