Less is More #374 – Bits Box

Hello everyone!  We have a new challenge today at Less is More (LIM).  We are asking you to use items from your Bits Box.  There are different terms for it (UFOs, snippets, etc.), but basically, they are those pieces we didn’t use or made a bunch of and stored away for another day.  Well, now is the day to dig them out! 😉   Our wonderful April winner, Skye from Blue Sky, is our guest.  Our generous sponsor is Uniko.

BUTTERFLY WILDFLOWERS

The Encrusted Jewel butterfly (love the dimension and sparkle from this fun and addicting technique!) and triple stacked Wildflowers were from my bits box.  I wanted to create a ‘trellis garden scene’ with them, so on a regular white diecut Stitched Rectangle, Twisted Citron distress ink was blended through a grid stencil (retired) with a Clarity brush.

Mixed gold Gansai Tambi paint with water and splattered for more texture.  Stamped and heat embossed the sentiment with Liquid Platinum embossing powder.  Mounted the panel with fun foam to a top folding card base for dimension then assembled to finish.

  2. WOW, WOW, WOW ! What a stunning butterfly ! Don’t know how you did it, but it is gorgeous ! And I love how you popped it up over this fabulous trellis garden and the dimensional die cuts ! Really beautiful card, as usual ! Have a fabulous week ! xx

  3. Just gorgeous, Trina. I’m loving shades of green more and more and the colours in that butterfly are just beautiful. Loving the stencilled background, and the die cuts add great detail but still let that stunning butterfly take centre stage xx

  4. Ooooh! Spectacular use of your bits box items Trina … not that I’d expect anything less! Gorgeous shimmering butterfly and an adorable little scene you’ve created. So serene and subtle. Love it. Thanks for all your support on the team and I’ll be back soon. xx

  5. Trina, what a wonderful creation from your bits box. I just love your encrusted jewel butterfly and your background is simply CAS spectacular 🙂

  6. Since this butterfly is amazing and I think most commentators agree on that. It could be taken off of the card and used as a pin. It looks great on this CAS card and if it does stay there, it is still a great design. Thanks for joining in the fun with us at Doule D Challenge Butterflies.
