Less is More #377 – Pets

Hi everyone!   It’s Saturday and there’s a new challenge at Less is More (LIM)!  Pets is the theme this fortnight.  Our June winner, Hannelie of Desert Diva, is our amazing guest this challenge.  We are also kicking off a new month with our fabulous sponsor – STAMPlorations.

I went the unconventional route after remembering seeing videos of owners walking their chickens on leashes!  Uh… say whaaaaaaaat? 😂  Anyway, here’s my card.

The chick image was stamped with black Memento ink on X-press It cardstock, coloured with Copics then die cut out with the matching die.  The tag was die cut next from Bristol paper and black cardstock.  On the Bristol tag, blended Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron distress oxide inks with a mini blending tool through a sunburst stencil.  Overlapped the colours for a good blend and also to get the spectrum of rainbow colours.

Stamped ‘hello’ directly on the tag in black and white heat embossed ‘birthday chick’ on a black strip.  Offset the tags for a shadow effect and added white Baker’s twine.  Mounted the tag with foam tape onto a Whisper White stitched rectangle panel.  Gotta have some sparkle, so added clear shimmer to the background to finish.  In hindsight, I should have used a shimmer spray and spritz right after the ink blending. 😉

Are you ready to play along?  Head over to the LIM blog HERE to see more inspirations from our guest and my team.  Can’t wait to see your CAS pet creations!  Thank you for stopping in.  Have a wonderful day!

  1. So many fab elements on your card, Trina. Awesome copic colouring, I love the rainbow stencilling and the offset tags look great, that little bit of black peeping through makes all the difference xx

  2. This tag card is adorable Trina!! You always come up with the most amazing ways to use rainbow … which makes EVERYTHING seem bigger, brighter, better. 🙂 Can’t imagine taking a chick for a walk on a leash … that would have to be a very thin leash! But it does make for a sweet card! 🙂 xx

  3. This is such a cute tag card, Trina! I love your Copic coloring and the rainbow sunburst! The ink blending is so beautiful and the black shadow effect highlights the gorgeous rainbow colors. Hideko xx

  6. Trina, I love the rainbow sunburst pattern in the background! It really draws your attention to the sweet chick image on the little tag. Thank you for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday this week, so glad you did! XO, Crystal

  7. What an adorable card and a fun and clever pet. I do know people who keep chickens as pets, and they never have to buy eggs at the store. Brilliant rainbow sunbeams. Thanks so much for playing along at CASology this week.
