Less is More #378 – Sketch #24

Happy Saturday everyone!  Time to announce the next challenge this fortnight at Less is More (LIM) — it’s Sketch #24!  Just a quick reminder… STAMPlorations is our wonderful sponsor this month.

As you can see, I saw a gift! 😂  The bow was die cut from a scrap of X-press It cardstock and coloured in with Copic markers B28, B24 and B21.  Clear shimmer was added for some sparkle (wasn’t able to capture it in the photo).

The gift itself was created by colouring a 2-1/4” x 4” piece of X-press It cardstock with Copic marker B21.  The lines were drawn in with a ruler and a Colorless Blender.  That piece was then cut in half into two 1” x 2-1/4” pieces.  Adhered them to a Whisper White stitched rectangle, then die cut the bow from that.  This step could easily be avoided simply by using pattern paper and then colouring the bow to match. Unfortunately, my pattern paper supply is limited.  Added the panel directly to a white cardbase and inlaid the coloured bow.  Stamped the sentiment on a white strip in blue and foam mount it to finish.

  4. Wonderful take on the sketch, Trina! Very pretty birthday gift! I was wondering how you made the subtle strips – so clever to use colorless blender! The bow must be really shiny IRL. I can feel your love of blue! 🙂 Hideko xx
