More Little Birthday Monkeys

Hello there!  Since I needed another birthday card and I couldn’t resist playing with those cute little monkeys again, I made this fun little rainbow birthday card.

First, stamped the monkeys on X-press It paper with Copic-friendly black ink, coloured with Copics then die cut out with the matching dies.  Used a label maker for the ‘HB2U’ sentiment.

Next, die cut a grid window from Whisper White cardstock and trimmed down to six squares.  Cut a rectangle piece also from Whisper White cardstock the same size as the grid and blended Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Twisted Citron distress oxide inks using a mini blending tool.  Overlapped the colours to get secondary colours for a fuller rainbow effect.  Lightly spritz with water and blot with a paper towel to add some texture.

Adhered all elements onto a stitched A2 Whisper White panel based on the sketch #336 from Freshly Made Sketches.  Attached the panel to a white top folding card base and added clear shimmer to finish.

Thank you for visiting.  Have a wonderful day!

  3. So sweet! I didn’t think the monkeys could be any cuter than your first card, and here they are … the cutest with the rainbow background! LOVE! xx

  4. I love the rainbow of color you created for these little guys! They are so cute in their windows. And how perfect are they with that slightly askew panel in the sketch! Thank you for playing along with us at Freshly Made Sketches.

  5. So cute, Trina ! These monkeys are as adorable as the previous trio. Love your take on the sketch with this beautiful background ! Have a great day. hugs x

  6. Adorable is the only way you can describe this cute birthday card. The monkeys are having a barrel of fun hanging onto that frame. Beautifully coloured and I like frame on the slant too. Awesome. Thanks so much for joining our All Occasion Anything Goes challenge at Watercooler Wednesday this week.

  7. I love how you’ve offset the panel, Trina! It looks like those adorable monkeys have been playing so hard, they knocked it askew! This is so much fun!

  8. Trina, this card is delightful…great coloring for the background. The offset white panel adds the perfect touch to a fun card. tfs
