Hi again. I have more puppy Christmas cards to share. I love replacing letters in sentiments with cute critters, so I couldn’t resist with the Fluffy Stockings Stamp & Die set from Hero Arts.
The perfect letter J, don’t you think? Stamped the puppy on Neenah cardstock and on pattern paper with Memento black ink. Coloured with Copics, including shading on the pattern paper image. Next, fussy cut the stocking portion from the paper pattern stamped image and paper pieced onto the Neenah stamped image. Die cut image with the coordinating die.
Die cut Hero Arts Joy from black cardstock and the matching pattern paper to stack for dimension. Outlined edges with a black marker. For the background, blended distress inks in matching colours on regular white cardstock. I got rid of a lot of my colour cardstock this summer since I hardly ever use them and of course, they would have come in handy this time.
Created the snowy background with embossing paste and a Falling Snow stencil from Simon Says Stamps. Die cut a stitched rounded rectangle from white cardstock and stamped wishing you in black. Assembled the card onto a white top folding card base and added clear shimmer to “joy” to finish.
I wanted the multi-coloured pattern paper to stand out, so I just used Kraft rather then blending a rainbow background.
This was actually my first card I did where I coloured with Copics instead of paper piecing. I switched to paper piecing thinking it would be quicker. I was wrong. 😂
And there you have it. Thank you for visiting. Happy Holidays!
