Silver Heartstrings

Hi everyone. With so many enabling sales this past holiday season, it’s no surprise that I have accumulated a lot of new goodies to play with. 😂😂🎉  This year, I resolute to use everything I buy at least once.  I started already with my New Year’s card posted on New Year’s Day where I used the Time Flies stamp set. Today I am using my new Heartstrings dies to create this super CAS card.

I first die cut the string heart twice to stack them for dimension.  I cut one from Silver Foil sheets and the other from a scrap of white cardstock.  I did the same for the little heart, except I die cut three from white cardstock for even more dimension.

I adhered the stacked hearts to an A2 size stitched rectangle white shimmer cardstock panel, offsetting it to the left.  The sentiment was heat embossed with silver glitter embossing powder on a strip of the same white shimmer cardstock.  For dimension again, I backed it on to a slightly larger strip of white shimmer cardstock and then mounted the whole strip with foam tape.

The panel was attached to a top folding white card base and a few clear sequins were added to finish.  With the shimmer cardstock, silver foil and silver glitter embossing, this card is shiny and sparkly IRL.

I didn’t want those silver foil diecut pieces from the heart to go to waste, so I created a second card with them.  I used the negative diecut piece as a guide to place the pieces in the correct position.  And with so many other great sentiments in the Many Everyday Messages stamp set, I decided to use a generic sentiment on this one.

  1. I know what you mean about purchasing stuff and not using it. I do the same. I love your CAS card. I bought this heart from Concord & 9th too, I need to get it out. Thanks for sharing with ABNH.

  2. Such an elegant and sophisticated card, this is wonderful! Thank you so much for playing along and for sharing your project with us over on the Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge Blog… 🙂

  3. What a fantastic die, so elegant and distinctive! I love how you’ve varied the height of the centre heart from the main die cut for added dimension. The shimmery card stock and silver foil are a really classy look. Thanks so much for playing along with us at Less is More, and Happy New Year!

  4. Stunningly elegant card Trina! Double cutting the heart string die and stacking them really adds a great feeling of dimension and what a beauty that die cut is! It’s always fab to see the “two-fer” as well, so the last photo with the two cards is just brilliant. Thanks so much for joining us at Less is More xx

  5. WOW! Super stunning and a brilliant use of your stash. That really is a beautiful heart and a great way to showcase dimension. A very Happy New Year to you and thanks for playing along with us at Less is More this week.

  7. Both your cards are just beautiful. I love the clean and simple look, and the wonderful way you have showcased that gorgeous die. And that is a great resolution, one that I should aspire to as well. I can’t tell you how many things I just had to have and then haven’t taken them out of the package. Great take on the challenge, thanks so much for playing along with us this week over at the Mod Squad.
