Simply Amazing

Hi there.  I am quickly dropping in tonight to share a sweet CAS card.

I cut a piece of Bristol paper to 5.25″ x 4″ and smooshed Salty Ocean and Squeezed Lemonade distress inks along the bottom.  I wanted to make it look like the duck was splashing in puddles. Set it aside to air dry.

Stamped the duck on a scrap of X-press It paper, coloured with Copics then fussy cut it out leaving a slight white border to give it a faux die cut look.  Once the smooshed panel dried, heat embossed the sentiment using black Versafine ink and clear embossing powder. Used C3 and C1 Copic markers to shade in the ground to anchor the duck.

Adhered the panel to a white top folding card base, then added clear Wink of Stella to the umbrella and a few clear droplets to finish.

I am participating in the following challenges:

  3. Once again you have given your little character SO much personality, Trina! You should be a children’s book illustrator! (Do I say that every time?!) Excellent color blending, as always! Congratulations on the shoutout from CAS Mix-Up!! Hugs, Darnell
