Snow Fun Slider

Hi everyone.  Today I have a fun slider card to share.  I guess I am really taking Kathy Racoosin’s 30 Day Coloring Challenge to heart with today’s card because I used three different colouring media on my card! *lol*  The 30-day coloring challenge is simply to colour something each day even if it’s just for five minutes.  So far I’ve kept up for all 17 days of this challenge so far.  Okay, onto today’s card.

Snowy Hill Slider

On a scrap piece of Bristol paper measuring 4-1/4″x2-1/2″, I blended Tumbled Glass and Blueprints distress inks for the sky.  From a scrap 4-1/4″x4-3/4″” piece of Bristol paper, I die cut the tree border.  After that I die cut the slider channel and then sponged Tumbled Glass distress ink along the channel to create the ski slope.  I heat embossed the sentiment in black.

Next, I stamped, coloured and die cut the images with the matching dies. The skiing moose was coloured with Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers, the snowman was coloured with Copics, and the penguin was coloured with Prismacolor pencils.

To put the slider together, I used spin & slide discs for the slide element and mounted that piece to the bottom of a white card base with double-sided foam tape over the sky piece.  I adhered the images to create the scene then added snow with a white gel pen to finish.  And here’s a short video.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

Naughty or Nice – #33 Punches/Dies
Happy Little Stampers – November Anything Goes with Dies
Pixie’s Snippets Playground – Week 255 Use Snippets (used lots of scrap cardstock)
SSS Wednesday – Christmas Critters
Send a Smile 4 Kids – Happy Holidays 4 Kids

  1. Hi Trina!

I spotted your lovely comment when I featured this wonderful card in the Snippets Playground, where you offered to send me the card and perhaps even make a second one. I really don’t feel it’s right to impose on you, but what a fabulous offer anyhow! I confess to having bought the MFT slider set plus the spinner do-dads just this week – but it remains to be seen if I can make a card for Germany in time. Ha, and also if I can find an animal stamp on skis!! Crafters really are the kindest people! Thank you for the thought but it’s just not fair to impose on you. So, so sweet of you to offer.

  2. Wow Trina – just as a scene this card is fabulous! And with the slider element added it’s totally perfect! I love it!
