Summer Christmas Bear?

Hi everyone.  Normally, I don’t make Christmas cards in the summer, especially on the hottest weekend of the year so far, but after seeing a couple of Christmas cards today and checking out some challenges, I was inspired to create this CAS Christmas card.

The bear was stamped with Memento black ink on A2 X-press It paper, then coloured with Copics.

It was then masked and the snowflakes were clear heat embossed.  Salty Ocean distress ink was applied with a mini blending tool to the background and a tissue was used to wipe off excess ink for a little emboss resist.

The camouflage die cut technique was used for the Warm Winter Wishes sentiment.  This technique can be tricky with little pieces getting lost, but a good trick I found to keep everything together is to use Press n Seal.

For some sparkle, clear shimmer added to the camouflaged diecut sentiment finished off the card.

I am playing in the following challenges:
Merry Monday #253 Bears
AAA Cards – Game#92 Resist Technique
Addicted to Stamps and More#247 Make Your Mark
CAS on Friday#110 Animals

Thank you for stopping by.  Have a great day!

  1. pretty darn cute and your camouflage words are amazing.. i’m going to have to look for some press-n-seal, I am always hunting for those tiny little pieces 🙂

  2. Trina, this card is adorable. I cooled off from the heat just looking at it. Love what you did with the snowflakes and your sentiment. the embossing and shimmer gives is a great wintery touch. Thanks for sharing this since I start my Christmas cards in July.

  3. Just don’t forget where you’ve put it when the time to send it out comes – I’m good at doing that! Super cute and super resist snowflakes too. Thanks for playing at AAA Cards.
