Less is More #334 Sketch 20

Hello there.  It’s a new challenge today at Less is More.  This week we have a sketch for you.  Thank you once again to STAMPlorations for being our sponsor this month.

I started with a scrap piece of white cardstock about the width of the card base and black heat embossed the butterfly on the right-hand side.  It was then die cut out and coloured in blue.  The leftover piece was coloured in the remaining rainbow colours with distress inks and a mini blending tool before being die cut out with a music notes die.  I wanted the colourful music note to really pop, so I adhered everything on a black A2 panel.  The sentiment was white heat embossed and clear shimmer was added to the butterfly for some sparkle to finish.

I am playing in the following challenges:

I was going to have only one card this week, but a couple of challenges had me thinking yesterday. 😉  Plus, I still had my Out to Sea die sitting on my desk from making my previous card.  The waves background was created by spreading embossing paste over a Wave stencil on a white scrap approximately 3″x 4.25″.  The paste was mixed with Salty Ocean distress ink to get the blue colour.  While the paste was still wet, Dazzling Diamond glitter was sprinkled over top.  Once it dried, the piece was cut with scissors in the shape of the sketch.  The sailboat was die cut 4x from white scraps, including a polka dot piece, to be stacked for dimension.  I’m really loving dimensional die cutting these days.  And finally, the sentiment was black heat embossed.  The glittery waves is so pretty IRL, so no embellishments.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

That’s it for me this week, but be sure to check ou my teamies’ personal blog.  They may have made some extra cards to inspire you.  Hope you will join us this week.  As always, remember to keep your card CAS and follow the challenge guidelines.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a great week!
