Less is More #349

Hi there and happy World Card Making Day!  We have a new colour challenge this week at Less is More (LIM) and we want to see Hot & Spicy colours on your cards.  Our talented guest designer for the next two weeks is Bev from Uniko, which also happens to be our sponsor this month

CHRISTMAS

I love non-traditional colour Christmas cards, so I thought all the hot and spicy colours would work for a warm and cozy Christmas card. 😉  First, a stitched rectangle was die cut from Mix Media paper.  Instead of masking, a snowy slope was die cut and the top piece was coloured with a mini blending tool and distress inks.  The sentiment was black heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder on the bottom piece.  The NBUS images (discontinued) were stamped on scraps of X-Press It paper, coloured with Copics and die cut out with the coordinating dies.  All pieces were mounted onto a white top folding card base and clear shimmer was added to finish.

BIRTHDAY

My next card was created for my teamie Izzy, whose birthday is tomorrow.  Happy Birthday, Izzy! 🎉🎈🎁   On this card, I just used red and green for my hot and spicy colours.  The elephant image was stamped with Memento black ink on a stitched piece of X-Press It paper I had in my stash, then coloured with Copics.  Masking and ink blending with distress inks were then used to create the ground area.  Copics were used to add details.  The sentiment was black heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.  The panel was mounted with fun foam.  A few clear sequins and clear shimmer on the balloons finished off the card.

And that does it for me this week.  My teamies have made some fabulous cards to inspire you and you can see them on the LIM blog.  There may even be more on their personal blogs.  Love to see what you create.  As always, remember to keep it CAS and follow the challenge guidelines.  Thank you for visiting.  Enjoy your weekend and have a wonderful week.
