CAS Christmas June Reminder – Masculine

Hello there!  This is the reminder post for the June CAS Christmas Masculine Card Challenge.  There is one week left to get your entries in.  Here’s my card.

Man’s best friend was my inspiration. 😊   Started by die cutting an A2 size stitched rectangle panel from Kraft cardstock.  Next stamped the puppy with Permanent Black ink on a scrap of X-Press It paper.  Coloured with Copics then die cut out with the coordinating die.

I wanted to create a Christmas tree scene since he’s all tangled up in lights.  To keep it CAS, I decided to faux dry emboss the “tree” in the background by die cutting a couple of pine branches (forgot brand) from Kraft cardstock and adhering them to the left-hand side.  The sentiment was gold heat embossed on a black strip.  Mounted the sentiment strip and the puppy with foam tape for a little dimension.  To finish, added white liquid appliqué to the hat brim/pompom, and Crystal Glaze to the lights.

Our fabulous guest, Bobby from Bits and Pieces, and my team have made some wonderful masculine cards to inspire you.  You can check them out HERE.  Challenge ends next Sunday on June 24th.  Hope to see you in the gallery.  Thank you for visiting.  Have a great day!

Christmas Puppies

Hello everyone.   I have, not one, but eight Christmas cards to share today.  Unfortunately, none of the recipients have received their cards before this post, so I hope they will like them when they do. 😉

I placed the four puppy images in my MISTI and stamped them with Memento black ink on X-Press It paper twice and coloured them with Copics.  I coloured one set red and the other blue.  I was planting to use Kraft with all of them and make them all the same, but when I went through my bags of scraps, I found various pieces and snippets that would allow each to be slightly different. Most of the images were die cut out with a circle die and paired with a Merry Christmas frame.  A few were die cut out with the coordinating die and added to different backgrounds.

snippet: embossed red stripe square

snippet: grid stencilled Kraft panel

snipoet: embossed woodgrain Kraft panel… I just sponged Kraft ink on top so the details would show better.

snippets: white stitched panel, Kraft tag and red ribbon… I just stencilled Kraft ink through a Radiating Rays stencil to create the background

snippet: I found one white double embossed panel and liked how the circle frame nestled perfectly into the circle area so I double embossed a second piece.

snippet: navy blue panel… there were actually two panels so I just kept this one very simple and silver heat embossing the sentiment

snippets: silver Christmas die cut sentiment and the other navy blue panel… I just die cut a stripe panel from white cardstock and stamped happy and wishes

That does it for this post.  Thank you for visiting.  Happy Holidays!
