Guest Designer for Uniko Challenge #48

Hello there!  Today I am excited to be guest designing for Uniko Challenge #48!   It is a quote inspiration challenge.

I created a friendship card around sentiments in Uniko’s Reach for the Stars stamp set.

I almost created a galaxy background, but in keeping with the remainder of the sentiment, which was stamped on the inside, I kept it more subtle.

First I took a scrap piece of mixed media paper and white heat embossed the streaming stars.  Using a mini blending tool, blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans distress inks to create the sky.  I wanted to twist and cute critters and children go hand in hand, don’t they? 😉  So the hugging monkeys was stamped on X-press It paper with Memento black ink, coloured with Copics then die cut out with the matching die.

Next a stitched rectangle panel was die cut from regular white cardstock.  A circle window was then die cut from it and the sentiment black heat embossed above.  Adhered the sky piece flat on to a white top folding card base.  Attached the monkeys behind the circle opening then mounted the panel to the front with foam tape to finish.

Just Hanging

Hi again.  I wasn’t planning to post again today, but I decided to salvage the card I was working on yesterday for  CAS(E) this Sketch #226.  I smeared ink right at the end, was frustrated, so I walked away. 😂  Having fresh eyes today really helped to figure something out. 😉  Here’s the sketch.

And here’s my card.

All stamping was done with Memento black ink on a white X-Press It Wonky Stitched Rectangle.  The monkey was stamped first, masked, then the branch was stamped next. They were coloured in with Copics.

Masking, a mini ink blending tool and Salty Ocean distress ink were used to create the sky area.  It looked too plain, so I went back with a DIY diecut cloud border stencil to add some subtle clouds.

I wanted to stamp “hang in there” for the sentiment, but I couldn’t remember which set it was from, so I stamped what’s up? instead.  A few clear sequins finished off the card.  Thank you for visiting  Have a great day!
