Hi everyone. We have the next challenge starting today at Less is More. It’s a colour challenge inspired by Tropical Fruits. Our guest designer this week is Tara Cardwell from this month’s sponsor Seven Hills Crafts.
My dad’s birthday is at the end of the month, so I thought it would be cool 😎 to make this for him. 😂 Twisted Citron distress ink was used to create the watercolour background on a watercolor stitched rectangle. The pineapple was stamped with Memento black ink on a scrap of X-press It paper, coloured with Copics and die cut out with the matching die. Three more were die cut from white cardstock and stacked for dimension. The sunglass and cool word sentiment were die cut from black cardstock. Once they were positioned on the card, the rest of the sentiment was stamped with black Archival ink. Glossy Accents added to “cool” finished off the card.
I am linking to the following challenges:
CAS on Friday – #113 Exotic
CASology – #260 Juicy
Muse – #227 Anything Goes
Only one card from me this week. My teamies may have more inspirations on their personal blogs for you to check out. Remember to keep your cards CAS and follow the challenge guidelines. Thank you for visiting. Enjoy your day!
I am excited to finally participate in my first Color Throwdown Challenge after many years of following them. The colors from this challenge 392 really caught my attention.
Don’t you just want to give this little guy a big hug? This punch art squirrel was inspired by this Nuts ABout You stamp set. This squirrel was created from SU! punches of which a couple have already retired and several more will be retiring soon at the end of this month.
Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Basic Black cardstock were used to create this punch art squirrel. The edges of all pieces were sponged with Soft Suede ink to give it more definition. Here are the punches used:
Head/Face – Tab, Extra Wide Oval, Large Oval
Body – Owl Builder, 1″ Circle
Ears – Bird Builder
Eyes – Bitty Butterfly
Pupils – Owl Builder
Nose – Cupcake Builder
Arms – Tree Builder
Feet – Small Heart
Tail – Blossom Petals Builder, Extra Wide Oval, Large Oval
I heat embossed Big Hugs from Jumbo Stripes with white embossing powder on a strip of Pacific Point cardstock. The for you was die cut from Smoky Slate cardstock.
Depending on the inside sentiment (such as “on your promotion” or “on your special day”), I think this card would work as a congratulatory or a birthday card. Or simply it could just be a fun card to put a smile on someone’s face.
