Hi everyone! It’s been a busy week of posting, and I’m capping it off with a quick and easy card for the next challenge at Less is More (LIM). We are back to one layer cards (OLCs) and the theme is Stripes. Seven Hills Crafts is our wonderful sponsor this month.
CHRISTMAS IN JULY
The ever popular Christmas in July theme prompted this card. Stamped the snow couple image with black Memento ink on a no bleed through Copic friendly card base. Coloured with Copics, adding stripes to the scarf. 😉
Masked the image and hill then blended Tumbled Glass distress ink with a mini blending tool. Finished by stamping the sentiment in red, then again with VersaMark ink to heat emboss with clear embossing powder. Easy-peasy!
That’s it from me, but click HERE to see the wonderful cards my teammies have created. Lots of possibilities to use stripes. Just remember to make it a OLC and keep it CAS! Thank you for dropping by. Have a super day!
I almost created a galaxy background, but in keeping with the remainder of the sentiment, which was stamped on the inside, I kept it more subtle.
First I took a scrap piece of mixed media paper and white heat embossed the streaming stars. Using a mini blending tool, blended Tumbled Glass, Salty Ocean and Faded Jeans distress inks to create the sky. I wanted to twist and cute critters and children go hand in hand, don’t they? 😉 So the hugging monkeys was stamped on X-press It paper with Memento black ink, coloured with Copics then die cut out with the matching die.
Next a stitched rectangle panel was die cut from regular white cardstock. A circle window was then die cut from it and the sentiment black heat embossed above. Adhered the sky piece flat on to a white top folding card base. Attached the monkeys behind the circle opening then mounted the panel to the front with foam tape to finish.

Hi there. I’m back today with my second guest designer card for Seize the Birthday and the optional topping this round is Stripes.
I chose to use the toppings again to create this colourful birthday card.
First, stamped the dragon and cake piece with Memento black ink on Neenah cardstock. Coloured them with Copics then fussy cut them out. Used my paper trimmer to cut a piece of mixed media paper down to A2 size. Blended Distress Oxide inks (Candied Apple, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Salty Ocean) with a mini blending tool. Overlapped the colours to get secondary colours. Spritz with water and lifted with a paper towel for some texture.
Next, die cut the Large Stripe cover plate from regular white cardstock then black heat embossed the sentiment with clear glitter embossing powder. Finished by adhering the elements onto a white top folding card base.
And that does it for me, but click HERE to see the beautiful birthday cards from the fabulous design team at Seize the Birthday. Hope you will join us! Thank you for dropping by. Have a wonderful day.
Hello there. I have a summer birthday card using another image I coloured with Copics on day 17 of the Daily Marker coloring challenge last month.
I don’t have the matching die yet, so the penguin was fussy cut out. Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Salty Ocean Distress Oxide inks were blended through a Leafy Frame stencil on mixed media paper. It was then spritz with water and die cut out with a Stitched Rectangle.
‘Cheers’ was die cut out from scraps of white cardstock three times and stacked. It was adhered to black cardstock then fussy cut around to give it a shadow. Finally, ‘let’s celebrate’ was white heat embossed on a black strip. The panel was mounted with foam tape on a white top folding card base and Crystal Glazefinished off the card.
Hello there! Hope you were able to clear out some of your bits box in our last challenge. We are back with a new challenge today at Less is More (LIM). It’s a colour challenge and the colours are Olive and Tangerine. Our May winner, Lynne of Cards from Lynne’s Loft, is our wonderful guest. We welcome back Seven Hills Crafts as our sponsotpr this month. Be sure to participate in all challenges this month to be in the running for a prize from them.
I will admit this colour combo was challenging for me. I finally settled on colouring these lilies as Tiger Lilies for my card. Stamped the flowers with Memento black ink on Neenah cardstock, masking in between. Coloured with green and orange Copic markers. Black heat embossed the sentiment with clear glitter embossing powder.
For a bit of interest, framed it by die cutting it with a stitched rectangle. Die cut four more rectangles from black scraps and stacked them for dimension. Finished with clear shimmer on the flowers.
