Happy Saturday everyone! Ready for our next challenge at Less is More (LIM)? Our theme this fortnight is Friendship! Easy, right?… and the possibilities are endless. Bev, the owner and designer for Uniko, is joining us as both our guest and sponsor!
Yellow is associated with friendship, so I thought sunflowers would fit the bill. 😉 To start, a stitched rectangle panel was die cut from Neenah cardstock. Stamped the sunflower cluster with Memento black ink, and masking each image. Next blended Mowed Lawn distress ink in the corner with a mini blending tool. For subtle shading around the flowers, used a Clarity brush. Removed masks and coloured with Copics. Mounted the panel on a white top folding card base and adhered the white embossed black sentiment strip. Added clear shimmer and glossy accents to finish.
I didn’t intend on another floral card, but after enjoying the colouring process on this card, I wanted to do it again and get more pencil coloring practice in. So just like that other card, stamped the image on Toned Tan paper with VersaMark ink, coloured with Polychromos and Chameleon pencils, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. Die cut ‘Friend’ from the image and popped it up on black fun foam for the dimensional camouflage die cut technique. White heat embossed ‘happy birthday’ on a black strip. Finished with some clear shimmer on the flowers and a few clear sequins.
That’s it for me and now over to you! To see the beautiful creations Bev and my team have made to inspire you to play along, please click HERE. Can’t wait to see you in the gallery. Thank you for dropping by. Have a great day!
Happy new year everyone! Hope you all had a fun night celebrating. I wasn’t feeling up to going out to a house party, so opted for a quiet relaxing night at home. Whatever you did last night, I hope you’re feeling better than these bunnies. 😂 They celebrated hard.
The Blah Bunny stamp set is so funny and I’ve been waiting for a chance to use it. On a piece of Neenah cardstock, stamped the Blah Humbunny with Memento black ink. Masked him and stamped the Blah Bunny. Masked again as well as the upper half of the panel, then stamped the NBUS wood floor in Sahara Sand ink. Sponged on Sahara Sand ink to finish the floor.
Removed masks and coloured with Copics. Heat embossed the confetti bits with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Black heat embossed happy with clear glitter embossing powder and white heat embossed new year on a black strip.
I was going to leave it plain as is, but it looked incomplete, so I added the wine/champagne bottles and hats. The bottles (discontinued) and hats were stamped with Memento black ink on scraps of X-Press It paper, coloured with Copics and fussy cut out. Adhered them to the scene and mounted the panel to a white top folding card base to finish.
Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you a happy, healthy and crafty new year!
Hi there. Been lacking energy lately, but wanted to complete a card I started. I’m sharing a CAS Mix Media floral birthday card using one of my favourite sets from Clearly Besotted in one of my favourite colour combos. These flowers are large and fun to colour.
Stamped the flowers with Memento black ink on a stitched X-Press It rectangle. Coloured with Copics.
Masked the image and blended Smoky Slate ink with a Clarity brush through a Halftone stencil for the background.
White heat embossed the sentiment on black cardstock and mounted with foam adhesive. Added clear shimmer to the flowers to finish.
And that is it. Thank you for stopping by. Enjoy your day.
Happy Saturday everyone. It’s one layer card week at Less is More (LIM) and it’s a good one. Challenge #345 is Colouring In. So many possibilities with this one. Our generous sponsor this month ince again is Happy Little Stampers.
I don’t use colour pencils very often, but I love the look of it especially on Kraft. Stamped the azaleas with Intense Blackink on a top folding Kraft card base and coloured in with Prismacolor pencils. Used a rectangle die to trace a frame with a black marker. Black heat embossed the sentiment. Added clear shimmer to the flowers and a few black Nuvo drops (thanks Nonni 😉) to finish.
I was working on something else, but it didn’t work out so I went back to my favourite colouring method. 😜 Stamped the chickie with Memento black ink on a white no bleed-through Copic-friendly top folding card base. Masked it, then stamped the branch. Next, masked the branch as well as above and below the images, leaving a panel across the middle. Ink blended Squeezed Lemonade and Spun Sugar distress inks over a cloud stencil with a mini blending tool to create the sky background. Removed masks and coloured in with Copics. Stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink and added clear shimmer to the pink clouds to finish.
That does it for me this week. For more inspirations, please check out my team’s personal blogs, which you can access from the LIM blog HERE. Once again, a friendly reminder to keep it clean and simple (CAS) and to follow the challenge guidelines. Can’t wait to see your creations. Thank you for visiting and have a lovely day!
Hello there. I am sharing a CAS birthday card I created for my friend Christine. I was going to give her one of the birthday cards in my stash, but I really wanted to use my NBUS Best Buds stamp set. She only received it today, so I couldn’t post until now
All images were stamped with Memento black ink on a Wonky Stitched X-Press It rectangle panel. The wavy streamer and sentiment were stamped first then masked. Next the floral image was stamped and masked. Then the bottom of the panel was masked before Mustard Seed distress ink was added with a Clarity brush for the background.
The images were coloured with Copics and the panel was mounted with foam tape to a white top folding card base. Clear shimmer on the flowers and a few clear sequins finished off the card.
