Buddy & Ducky

Happy Friday everyone!  Today I am sharing another NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) card combined with tic tac toe, balloons, color and stitch challenges.

On a piece of white cardstock slightly larger than A2 size, I randomly sponged on some Broken China distress inks for the sky.  I cut a couple of NBUS stitched clouds from white cardstock, cut one in half, and adhered them to the sponged background.  Then I die cut that background piece with an A2 size stitched rectangle die.  To create the window, I die cut with the largest size Inside & Out Stitch Rounded Rectangle.

My other NBUS item is the Buddy and Duck stamp set from Penny Black.  I wanted to have these two critters chatting away as they float off to the upper right corner. I stamped Buddy and Duck with black Memento ink, colored with Copics and fussy cut them out.  For some dimension, I added glossy accents to the balloons.

Now to put my card together, I added foam adhesive to the frame and the critters. I adhered the frame to a top folding white card base, inlaid the rounded rectangle piece, and then added Buddy and Duck. I stamped the sentiment in blue on a white stitched curve banner and mounted it with foam adhesive as well.  To finish and complete the top row across of the tic tac toe challenge, I added a few sequins.

I am playing in the following challenges:

NBUS – Challenge #7
CAS on Sunday – Challenge #90 Balloons
Color Throwdown – Challenge #408
Stamping Smiles Designs – Tic Tac Toe Challenge 17
CASology – Week 213 Stitch

Punch Art Birthday Cards

I haven’t been able to craft anything new lately. Been having problems with my back and sitting to craft is just not possible. However, I have some cards I made back in January that I can share.  Plus, I need practice in posting 😜.

So I did an All-occasions Critters Punch Art class a while back and gave a set to a friend for her birthday. She loved them and was not planning to give them away, but she did. When she asked me to make another set, but this time make them all birthday cards, I was more than happy to do so.

For this punch art alligator card, I used the MFT Concentric Circles stencil to create the backdrop on black cardstock.  I die cut the greeting twice out of white cardstock to give it dimension.  I don’t remember which company the die is from.

I love this punch art raccoon so much that I made another card with this cutie for a SSS Wednesday challenge back in February. You can see that card HERE. To create this card I used the balloon edge die from the MFT Die-Namics Blueprints 26.  I used SU! Bermuda Bay and Lucky LImeade ink to colour the balloon and just blended them in the centre to get a third green colour. The greeting is from MFT Brushstroke Birthday stamp set. I finished it off with die-cut stars using SSS Mini Stars dies.

This punch art beaver was added to a wood stamped background using the SU! Hardwood background stamp. The stamped sentiment was from the SU! Tin of Cards stamp set. Easy-peasy.

And finally, this punch art fox was created using the SU! Woodlands embossing folder (retired).  I brayered SU! Soft Sky ink on the flat side of the embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot.  The “wishes” greeting was from the Hero Arts Color Layering Christmas Tree stamp set (stretching my stamps whenever I can 😛). I embossed the wishes with white embossing powder on black cardstock, then used the top edger birthday die from MFT Die-Namics Blueprints 26 to complete the greeting.
