Halloween Colour Christmas

Happy Monday everyone.  Time sure flies since I last posted.  I’ve been working on a calendar project, and it was my December month that I thought would work as a Christmas card as well. Anyone who knows me knows I am a fan of non-traditional colour Christmas cards. I don’t remember making a traditional red and green Christmas card – EVER.  So I took well known Halloween colours and combined it with heat embossing and emboss resist techniques to come up with this CAS Holiday Style card.

I die cut a Stitched Rectangle from Whisper White cardstock.  I first stamped the hooks with Charcoal ink, followed by the strings because it was easier to line up the images in this sequence.

Next, I stamped the boughs with VersaMark ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  I used the emboss resist technique to reveal the boughs.  I sponged on some Sour Apple ink and then wiped off the excess ink from the embossed areas.

I used my MISTI to stamp my ornaments with Lavender Fields and Deep Iris inks and then punched them out with a 1″ circle punch.  To give them dimension, I heat embossed them with clear embossing powder twice.  I stamped the sentiment with Versafine black ink and heat embossed with clear embossing powder as well,  To finish, I mounted the stitched rectangle to a white card base and added a few clear sequins.

This year I plan to donate some of my handmade cards to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.  I made this the kickoff of this goal.
