Action Ninja

Hello everyone.  I’m sharing another CAS birthday card today.  This time, it’s a really quick and fun interactive masculine card for my soon to be 10 year old nephew.

The explosion was stamped with Mustard Seed distress ink on a white A2 Zig Zag Stitched Rectangle.

The ninja was stamped with black Memento ink, coloured with Copics then die cut out with the  coordinating die.  The sentiment was heat embossed with VersaMark, Sapphire ink and clear embossing powder.

To make the card more fun, the ninja was mounted on a mini action wobble.  You can check it out in the video.  I’m so sorry, but I have no idea why the video is displaying so big.

Thank you for dropping by.  Have a great day!

Window Spinner Card

Hello everyone.  I have a fun card to share today. Plus, I have my first attempt at a short video. So MFT ran the series of Camp Create challenges this past summer and now they are hosting a Card Design Superstar contest.  Of course I am joining in the fun.  For my first entry, I wanted to do a window spinner card.  I’m not even sure if that’s what this type of card is called. I combined a tic tac toe, rainbow and frames challenges to create my card. All stamps and dies are from MFT.

One of the reasons I liked the Hog Heaven stamp set is the image of the piggy’s backside.  I just gave mine a heart tattoo on his left butt cheek that I drew in with a Copic multiliner and colored with Copics.  The balloons are from Blueprints 26.  I die cut two balloons from white cardstock and heat embossed the sentiments from Adorable Elephants with white embossing powder.  I then Ombre ink blended Ripe Raspberry Premium dye ink for a little emboss resist.

The card front window opening was die cut with Cross-stitch Rectangle STAX.  For reinforcement and stability, I cut two 5-1/4″x4″ white pieces of cardstock and die cut an opening in the middle with the same cross-stitch die to create a frame. For more stability and some detail, I die cut two frames from white cardstock with the Pierced Rectangle Frames.  I adhered baker’s twine down the middle of the opening and then attached the frames.  For some reason, I just love the idea of critters flying away on balloons, so I attached the balloons and piggy images back to back along the twine. I added some pink sequins for texture.

To create the sky background that appears through the window opening, I blended some Tumbled Glass distress inks and then die cut the stitched rainbow and clouds from white cardstock using End of the Rainbow.  I colored the rainbow with Copics then adhered my pieces to complete my background.  Really simple.

And here’s a short video showing how this card spins.  Click HERE to watch in HD.
