Less is More #366 Monochrome

Hi there.  I can’t believe it’s March already!  Did you enjoy our birthday celebration last month?   I hope so.  Well, we are back today with a new challenge at Less is More (LIM).  It’s a colour challenge and we want to see your Monochrome cards.  Monochrome is defined as black, white and grey, or tones of one colour.  STAMPlorations is our generous sponsor this month and its owner / artist, Shery Russ, will be joining us as one of two guest designers (GD).  Our other GD is December winner and the very talented Maaike from Cards by Maaike.

MONOCHROME DOG-ROSE

This was an easy one. To begin, an A2 stitched rectangle was die cut from Neenah cardstock.  The image was stamped with black Memento ink and masked.  Smoky Skate dye ink was then blended through a grid stencil with a Clarity brush.

I could’ve left the image as is since a lot of the shading is incorporated in the stamp itself, but I wanted a little more contrast, so I went in with some cool gray Copic markers to add more shading.  The sentiment was black heat embossed with clear glitter embossing powder.

The panel was adhered to a white top folding card base.  Clear shimmer was added to the flowers and a few black sequins finished off the card.
