Happy new year everyone! Hope you all had a fun night celebrating. I wasn’t feeling up to going out to a house party, so opted for a quiet relaxing night at home. Whatever you did last night, I hope you’re feeling better than these bunnies. 😂 They celebrated hard.
The Blah Bunny stamp set is so funny and I’ve been waiting for a chance to use it. On a piece of Neenah cardstock, stamped the Blah Humbunny with Memento black ink. Masked him and stamped the Blah Bunny. Masked again as well as the upper half of the panel, then stamped the NBUS wood floor in Sahara Sand ink. Sponged on Sahara Sand ink to finish the floor.
Removed masks and coloured with Copics. Heat embossed the confetti bits with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. Black heat embossed happy with clear glitter embossing powder and white heat embossed new year on a black strip.
I was going to leave it plain as is, but it looked incomplete, so I added the wine/champagne bottles and hats. The bottles (discontinued) and hats were stamped with Memento black ink on scraps of X-Press It paper, coloured with Copics and fussy cut out. Adhered them to the scene and mounted the panel to a white top folding card base to finish.
Thank you for stopping by. Wishing you a happy, healthy and crafty new year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all had a great Christmas and Santa was good to you. I can’t believe it’s New Year’s already. I’ve been nursing a nasty cold/flu all week. This is the first time back crafting in My Crafting Closet since before Christmas. Normally, I wouldn’t make a New Year’s card, but being that this is the first New Year’s since I started my blog, I thought it would be a fitting way to welcone in 2017 and wish you all good health, happiness and creativity.
So my card is based on the “ringing in the new year” phrase. I stamped the clock in London Fog Memento ink (the face was stamped with black Memento ink) on Ultrasmooth cardstock, coloured with Copics (C00, C1, C3, C5) and then fussy cut out. I added glossy accents to the face of the clock.
The numbers were die cut from scraps of Ultrasmooth cardstock and Ombré coloured with the same cool gray Copic markers. For some shimmer, I added clear Wink of Stella. I die cut a couple more numbers from thicker scraps of cardstock to stack them for dimension. The sentiment was die cut from silver glitter paper, then adhered to black cardstock before I fussy cut it out with a small border.
For the background, I wanted it to look like sparkly confetti falling. So I inked VersaMark through a Falling Snow stencil onto a black A2 size stitched rectangle panel and then heat embossed it with silver glitter embossing powder. The panel was adhered to a white landscape top folding card base to finish. Oh! And did I mention that this is an interactive card? My friend Christine gave me an action wobble spring over a year ago and I just happen to come across it. Finding it was what prompted me to make this card and have the clock “ring” in the new year. This is my first action wobble card. Check it out in action.
