Back to Birthday!

Happy Monday everyone!  So back to birthday cards as May is a busy birthday month.  In fact, I have two friends with the same birthday today!  I’m only sharing one of the cards now and the other on Saturday. 😉  My friend loves her cat, so I thought it was the perfect time to break out a NBUS set and make this CAS birthday card.

Took a wonky stitched rectangle panel die cut from Neenah cardstock and stamped the image with Memento black ink.  Masked the image, then die cut a reverse oval mask from masking paper.  Adhered the oval mask into place and ink blended Shaded Lilac distress ink with a mini blending tool.  Removed the masks and coloured the image with Copics.  Having destashed a lot of my coloured cardstock, the sentiment was white heat embossed on a white strip and coloured with Wilted Violet distress ink.

Mounted the panel with foam adhesive on a white top folding card base.  Popped up the sentiment strip also with foam adhesive since it didn’t need to be mailed.  Added sone clear sequins and clear shimmer to finish.

I’m meeting up with my friend for a birthday lunch, so I’m hoping she doesn’t see this post beforehand. 😉  Thank you for stopping by.  Have a fabulous week!

Less is More #342 Your Perfect Holiday

Hello there.  Time is just flying by.  We have a fun new challenge starting today at Less is More.  Challenge #342 is Your Perfect Holiday.  Our guest designer this week is our June winner, Pauline from Crafting with Cotnob. Once again, our generous sponsor this month is Seven Hills Crafts.

Who doesn’t love a tropical paradise holiday with palm trees and a beautiful sunset?  But my tropical paradise would be comfortable warm and not hot.  When it’s hot, I just don’t function.  This is why I used cool colours and not the traditional red, orange and yellow.  The image and sentiment were black heat embossed on a white Stitched Rectangle panel.

A reverse circle mask was then die cut from a Post It note and distress inks were blended on with a mini blending tool.  Excess ink was wiped off with a tissue and the panel was mounted with fun foam on a top folding card base.  A few clear sequins finished off the card.
