Happiest of Birthdays

Hi there.  Green is not just for St. Patrick’s Day! 😉  Here’s a birthday card I created using a NBUS stamp set I’ve had for quite a while.

To begin, the wreath and some individual leaf images were stamped on X-press It paper with black Memento ink.  The individual leaves were used to fill in the sparse areas on the wreath and make it look fuller.  They were coloured with Copics, then fussy cut out since I don’t have the matching dies.

Then on a Wonky Stitched Rectangle panel die cut from hot press watercolor paper, masking was used to clear heat emboss the music strip background.  Shabby Shutters and Peeled Paint distress inks were applied to it with a Clarity brush and excess ink was wiped off with a tissue for a little emboss resist.  The sentiment from the same set was white heat embossed on black cardstock.  I was going to add some green sequins, but decided to add some green splatters instead.

The panel was adhered to a white top folding cardbase before all elements were assembled.  To give the wreath some depth, shading was added with a gray colored pencil.  Crystal glaze on the green leaves finished off the card.

And that is all.  Thank you for visiting. Enjoy your day.
