Happy Friday everyone. I was really hoping the Smile stamp set I ordered would arrive before the challenges ended…and it did — TODAY!
Because one of the challenges is white flowers, I decided to use the whitewash watercolor technique for my card. I stamped the flower image with white pigment ink onto Kraft cardstock and then heat embossed it with white embossing powder. Using a water brush, I colored in the stamped image with white pigment ink refill and then dried it with my heat tool
To add color and shading to the image, I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. The flower itself was essentially untouched. I just added a bit of shading in the middle area for some depth
I wanted part of the image to extend onto a strip of Elegant Eggplant cardstock, so I used my trimmer to cut up to and around the image to get a straight edge. Then I used my scissors to cut the overhang portion. I die cut Wishing from Elegant Eggplant cardstock and stamped the birthday sentiment in the matching dye ink. I wanted the whitewash flower to stand out, so no embellishments.

This is stunning, such wonderful colouring. I am so pleased you joined my party.
This card is so amazingly elegant! The white wash technique you used against the Kraft cardstock looks incredible! I love how it is so crisp and clean-looking, yet is still soft and sophisticated. Love how you added the subtle touch of purple to the flowers and then went with a bold purple for the sentiment. This is a stunner and I’m so glad you shared it with us for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
