Hello everyone. It’s raining and cold out here in Vancouver. I don’t know what happened to our beautiful summer weather lately, but it just means more time to play in My Crafting Closet. I made this card thinking about how great it would be to lounge on a hammock and watch the sunset.
I started with a 4″x5-1/4″ stitched rectangle die cut from hot press watercolor paper. I stamped the image in black Archival ink 3 times using my MISTI to get a crisp impression. Then I die cut a circle from the image where I want the sun to be. Next I used my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers and a watercolor brush, and watercolored the circle with the orange and bright yellow markers to create the sun.
I inlaid the circle back into the stitched rectangle panel. The image is not completely solid, so I used the Zig black marker to fill in as needed. For the sentiment, I first watercolored a scrap piece of hot press watercolor paper to match the sun. Once dry, I die cut the sentiment from it. For dimension, I mounted it onto black fun foam.
I adhered the stitched panel onto a white card base with foam adhesive and finished off with some enamel dots.
