One Year + Giveaway

Hi everyone!  This month marks my one year blog anniversary.  I’ve learned a lot in this first year and am continuing to learn more. I thought I’ve heard of all the stamp companies out there, but I’m still discovering new ones!  I’ve met quite a few crafty friends (online of course) and love being part of this friendly, supportive and talented crafting community.  I am just having so much fun crafting..

So to celebrate, I have a card and a giveaway! I was planning to do this giveaway at the beginning of the month after updating the look of my blog, but I was at a loss at what to do until Loll stepped in. Not only is Loll a talented crafter, but she is so kind to help me out.  Thank you so much Loll. And now here’s  my card.

The images were stamped with Intense Black ink on scraps of X-press It paper, coloured with Copics and die cut out with the matching dies.

Distress inks were blended on hot press watercolor paper to create the sky and water.  A Wave stencil and border die were used to create the waves in the water.  Both were spritz with water and dabbed with a paper towel for some texture.

The sentiment was black heat embossed. To finish, clear shimmer was added to the mermaid’s tail and top and Glossy Accents was added to the turtle shell and dolphin.

I am linking up to the following challenges:

  4. OK I am attempting to meet the second requirement by commenting the only way I know how. I’ve been carding for two years after seeing what my friend created and she introduced me to others with this like hobby. I have subscribed to you by e-mail. I’ve lived in Florida for 29 years coming from Oregon/Idaho. Love where I live but also love the northwest.

  5. It’s fun for me to check out the detail coloring on all of your projects. I have subscribed to your blog by e-mail and IS. I still don’t understand how to comment on IS. I don’t know whether I’m supposed to do 3 comments here or there are other ways. If you have the time I would sure like to learn how to do what I think you requested on the 3 Giveaway requirements. I love to make cards as it is my creative outlet and it’s so fulfilling to see the end result.

  6. Such a cute card! Fun little scene. You are a very talented crafter whose skills I truly admire! I do follow your blog but not through email -it’s possible to add blogs that are non-blogger to your reading list at blogger… And there you are, in my reading list! 🙂 Anyway, congrats to your 1 year anniversary. Why do I like to craft.. It takes my mind out of work or other hard stuff that might be going on IRL… + I love all the pretty, cute and fun supplies! 🙂 Have a great weekend!

The little scene is just perfect – well done! And, another well done on reaching one year of blogging – I’m not joining in as I have a very similar set of stamps and die made by MFT. But someone is going to be a very happy winner!

    Di xx
